They should be planted in soft and well drained soils, which are able to prevent the formation of stagnant water, an element that can quickly cause the onset of rot. The planting period should be the autumnal one, around the months of October, November, when the temperatures are not yet too low. It is possible to do this even in winter, but not when the ground is frozen. Another period is spring, from late February to April. Plants of this type do not like pruning, which must be carried out with particular care to avoid causing serious damage to the plant. It is good to intervene with regular watering, especially in the presence of young specimens and on the hottest days. The fruit ripens in the period from June to July, depending on the area of ​​cultivation, the type of cherry tree and the climate of the period.
Plants can be subject to problems deriving from some parasites such as the monilia and the cherry fly, as well as problems related to an excess of humidity that can cause rot.
